The following things got hurt during the making of this holiday...

In order of increasing seriousness:

• The frontmost bathroom roller-blind: broken and fixed.
• The front-bedroom roller-blind: broken and fixed twice.
• Almost every lock-gate: shunted heavily.
• The cupboard door under Mike's bed: broken hinges.
• An already-dead fish: became paste between a lock-gate and a hard place.
• The broom that came with the boat: snapped and repaired.
• Several pint glasses: killed by clumsy drunks.
• Two glass tumblers: smashed.
• One steel dinner-knife: drowned at Alvechurch.
• The sanity of just about everyone we met: strained beyond repair.
• One plastic swivel-lid bin: disintegrated by gravity and steel flooring.
• The original water-tank cap: given a sea burial.
• Paddle-key number one: left at Diglis Basins.
• Paddle-key number two: spun into orbit.
• The Canterbury's paintwork: scraped in various boat-object interactions.
• The private jetty: walloped on the Severn.
• Tardebigge Tunnel: severe food pollution.
• Several boats at Diglis Basin: crunched by our boat.
• Front bedroom on The Canterbury: severe flood damage.
• International relations with Sweden, Denmark and Germany: destroyed.
